BIOMATDB: Dissemination & communication activities to maximise the project’s impact
By developing a biomaterials database and marketplace, BIOMATDB will make an important contribution to the biomaterials industry. To ensure that the solutions are known by stakeholders and will be used beyond the project duration, it is crucial to follow a defined dissemination and communication approach and make sure the BIOMATDB solutions achieve maximum impact.
Within the BIOMATDB Project, the consortium will develop an advanced biomaterial database as well as a biomaterial marketplace including digital advisors. These solutions can greatly support biomaterial research as well as the biomaterial industry and market. In order to achieve maximum impact of these solutions, the consortium needs to ensure that all relevant target groups are informed about them and know how they can be useful for the different stakeholder types. Therefore, several dissemination and communication activities are taking place continuously during the project through combined efforts of all project partners.
BIOMATDB dissemination & communication channels
To reach as many stakeholders as possible, a multi-channel dissemination approach is used. This includes the following:
- Social Media: On the BIOMATDB Twitter & LinkedIn channels, posts are published several times a week to inform interested people about the project’s objectives, progress, activities, or general news in the biomaterials field. Additionally, social media allows direct interactions between the consortium and stakeholders.
- Newsletters: Twice a year, the BIOMATDB newsletter is sent out. It includes an update of the latest activities and progress in the project as well as opportunities to get involved, for example, through participation in stakeholder surveys.
- Project website: The BIOMATDB Project website (biomatdb.eu) is regularly updated with news articles including insights into the project work and the consortium’s expertise, as well as general updates about developments in the biomaterials field. Furthermore, the website includes a listing of selected events in the field of biomaterials. The project website also includes important general information and facts about the project.
- Events: Regular participation in events, in person as well as online, ensures that stakeholders all over Europe will be informed about the project. They also provide great opportunities for personal contact with members of the target groups and allow for direct interactions. Events that SYNYO has participated in so far include, among others, the Second Global Workshop – OntoCommons addressing the challenges of the Industry 5.0 transition as well as the Cluster Health – Horizon Europe Brokerage Event 2024. There, SYNYO was able to present the project and have 1:1 talks with interested stakeholders.
Collaborations with other projects
Collaborations with other projects in similar areas enable knowledge exchange and ensure that results can be exploited beyond the project’s duration in future research. BIOMATDB, therefore, is continuously contacting other projects and initiatives related to the project’s objectives. The consortium is already in contact with several other projects, including OntoCommons, a H2020-funded project dedicated to the standardisation of data documentation related to materials and manufacturing, as well as Safe-N-Medtech, a project developing an innovative open access platform to offer companies and reference laboratories the opportunity for developing, testing, assessing, upscaling and marketing nanotechnology-based medical and diagnosis devices.
