The LEAGUE project addresses the further need of prevention and increased reporting of online child sexual abuse (OCSA) of boys aged 10-18 by enhancing the competences of the relevant organisations and authorities, supporting the victims of such crimes. Therefore, two main groups are targeted, namely a) responsible actors for preventing as well as reporting online child sexual abuse and b) boys between 10 and 18 years old.
The firstly mentioned target group will be strongly involved through trainings, which are going to be conducted on national as well as on international level:
The LEAGUE project also provides useful materials for the second target group, namely boys within the above-mentioned age group. They will be reached via a tailored online platform and a chatbot. The platform should provide peer-to-peer support, alternative psychological help, and information through helplines. There will also be an online course, presenting the general rights of a child, designed in an accessible and child friendly manner. The chatbot will provide information on different types of questions the target group could possibly have and will also provide contacts for helplines and the responsible authorities in the respective countries. The communication will be held in a simple language.
The implementation of the LEAGUE project will ensure short-, medium- and long-term results and impacts. In the short term, LEAGUE will strengthen the capacity of professionals and experts by providing them with the necessary knowledge and enhancing their skills regarding the changes caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. In the medium term, LEAGUE will facilitate the consolidation of the child protection community by providing an internet platform for the mentioned activities. Moreover, the planned medium-term outcomes will impact one of the main target groups, thus boys aged between 10 and 18. In the long term, it is expected, that the project activities will lead to a more comprehensive approach concerning the prevention and reporting of online sexual abuse. This is in line with the EU Strategy on the Rights of the Child.

Neben der Orientierung am internationalen State-of-the-Art in der Forschung bezieht sich das Projekt dabei auf ein neu entwickeltes, dynamisches Kriminalpräventionsmodell.
