Urban Future
More than ever, cities are the driving force for innovation, growth and economic transformation, yet, to the same extent, they are also focal points of social change. In the face of the climate crisis, urban areas are challenged to take new paths and demand to keep an eye on social balance and equal opportunities.
SYNYO aims to tackle challenges related to rapid urbanization and climate change by providing a proactive role in encouraging and expanding networks, filling gaps between technology, society and the environment as well as identifying investment opportunities to find and implement innovative solutions for a just urban development.
We are committed to growing the European Smart City community by helping city councils, research institutions and citizens on the path towards more sustainability and resilience. Our team provides valuable expertise to bring these stakeholders together in new and fragmented markets related to the built environment, urban mobility and integrated infrastructures. Our ambition is to support innovation in these markets, eventually leading to inclusive and more sustainable businesses and governance processes.
SYNYO’s contribution
Conceptualization, planning and preparation
SYNYO´s team has been developing several ICT concepts, innovation processes and engagement strategies in the context of multiple funded projects over the last years. We offer our expertise to conceptualize, plan and prepare innovative solutions in a smart city and urban future context.
Digital Advisors for Green Solutions
Digital Advisors help different target groups to gather the desired information about technologies, products and services they are looking for. The digital advisors help to find target-group specific information, leading to a selection of (compatible) products which are fitting to the user´s specific needs and requirements.
Dissemination and Communication
Dissemination and communication are crucial tasks in urban-related projects in order to increase the impact of the research project. The work, which is usually combined in a dedicated work package, starts with the development of the project identity (logo and colour scheme) and continues as an ongoing activity throughout the entire project lifetime.
Open Information Hub
The Internet of Things and in particular smart home solutions pose a serious security threat to private homes. SYNYO analyses technological smart home solutions to identify and visualize potential threat scenarios for consumers. Together with expert partners, criminal law framework conditions are analysed in terms of security and privacy. Scenarios are prioritized and recommendations for future use of smart home devices and possible legal changes are integrated in an overall strategy for law enforcement agencies.
